ABOUT THE ARTIST
After a childhood spent filling sketch books I went to Calgary in 2008 and started to study illustration and design at the Alberta University of the Arts. Although I didn’t complete my degree I feel that this was a very formative time for me and its influence can be seen in my work.
After moving home from Calgary in 2011 I was ready to start my new journey. I was working on the family ranch which paid in room and board so I started tinkering in my moms shop learning how to engrave. At the time I was very involved in the ranching community and I became very interested in the artistry of bits and spurs. With help from my grandfather, I learned how make them. While bits and spurs were my initial primary interest over the next couple of years that passion would evolve into jewellery making.
Over time, I've honed and refined my craftsmanship into the unique style you'll see in my pieces today. Allowing myself the room to grow as an artist while working with my dedicated clientele has been incredibly rewarding. Thank you for being along for the ride.

Now, as Stacey and I embark on opening McRae Atelier Inc. in Nova Scotia, a goal of ours for many years, we look forward to establishing our crafts in a new community and building a trusted and valued business for years to come.
